REFLEKTOR: How does “Light & Dark” come to life in your installation?
“My work ‘Dark Energy’ speaks to our ignorance about the universe and its fundamental structure. I use the darkness as a metaphor for the unexplainable and for what we cannot define. My main idea was to let a body float weightlessly in a deep dark space with no clear sense of up or down. The body is slowly ever rotating in a void where time and space are dissolved.”
Berit Dröse is a multidisciplinary artist. She investigates intangible phenomena, such as light and darkness, through different materials. She is educated at The Jutland Art Academy & Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee.
